Car Seat and Passenger Safety
The Menlo Park Fire District currently has trained personnel to assist with car seat safety inspections and installations. Contact Carol Parker at 650.688.8415 to schedule an appointment. Appointments only and plan on spending 1 hour per car seat. Car seat inspections and installation services are also provided by the Menlo Park Police Department or Redwood City CHP. Disaster and Emergency Preparedness
We do not get to pick when or where a natural disaster or catastrophe takes place. We must all be prepared. You can participate in training and be part of a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) or receive Personal Emergency Preparedness training to be ready in your own household. The Menlo Park Fire Protection District will help you and your business, Health Care Facilities, Homeowners, and schools with developing a proper emergency and evacuation plan. This will be culminated by practicing and evaluating a fire and evacuation drill. Please contact the Fire Prevention Bureau at 650.688.8425 to schedule an appointment to begin your emergency plan.
Fire Extinguisher training
The Menlo Park Fire Protection District will provide fire extinguisher education and training at your business. We recommend scheduling a demonstration when it is time for the annual servicing of your business fire extinguishers. Please call the Fire Prevention Bureau at 650.688.8425 to schedule an appointment to learn when and how to use a fire extinguisher.
Fire Safety Inspections
The Menlo Park Fire Protection District under the CA Fire Code performs annual inspections to ensure every citizen, employee and business owner is working and living in the safest conditions that meet today’s current codes. Inspections are also performed on all new constructed business and homes to ensure that all life safety systems are installed properly and to current CA Code and local ordinances.

Juvenile Firesetter Intervention Program
It is estimated that over 50% of all residential fires are started by juveniles. It is important to intervene early with any juvenile that may be showing interest or have experienced fire. The Menlo Park Fire District has certified personnel that can help intervene and provide a proper route of education and resources for juveniles showing interest or having experienced fire.
